The Wasteland !

This is something from the location of the TV drama called FUMOCHITAI, The Wasteland. It is based on a true story set during and after the second world war. This is my kid in the role as John Pratt, a very handsome looking young boy with a spring in his step and good nature!

TV shoot

Today I start shooting on the TV drama that I have talking about
recently, and I am actually really excited about it. I normally don't
get this exited about acting, but for some reason this time is
something I am really looking forward to. But I just caught a cold! I
am actually breaking out in cold sweats and my throat is real sore,
for some reason this tends to happen everytime I am about to do some
acting jobs! Last time I played a sports instructor and the night
before we shot I had 39.8 degrees in fever!!! But I still pulled
through on the day!

今日からドラマな撮影が始まります、久しぶりにかなり興奮しています！
多分興奮し過ぎて、風ひいてしまった！
昨日からひどいです！朝から頭が痛い、ノドが痛いけど、きっと大丈夫で
す！前回"コールセンターの恋人"の時に撮影前の夜に
39.8℃熱を出していたけど、現場についたとき気合いで治した！今日はそ
んなひどくないですので、全然大丈夫よ！

Sunday haircut !

What better way to spend your Sunday than getting a nice haircut? I
needed to cut my hair for the drama that I start shooting on tomorrow,
and althought I normally like to put some streaks in it, this time I
am playing a business man in the 60's so I had to tone down my hair a
bit. All my lines are in Japanese this time, and since I got the
manuscript I have been reading them all through about 20 or 30 times a
day. I speak them out loud whenever I feel like it, and it has helped
me get the lines down. Now I know I got them all I can hope for is
that they don't change them when I get there. It has happened often
enough that the director feels some other lines should be used and
then he can change them on the spot. This show is set about 50 years
ago so even the spoken Japanese is a bit old. But it is all fun and
games and since it is my favorite job in the world I am just looking
forward to it.

明日から始まるドラマの撮影のために、髪の毛を作ってきた！日曜日って大体日
曜日のペースになるけど、明日から始まる撮影は本当に楽しみです！今回は真面
目なサラリーマン役なので、髪型もそれなりに切ってもらいました。この前台本
をもらってから、毎日セリフの練習を朝から、昼、夜、一日20〜30回練習してい
ます！今回は全部日本語なので、かんぺきにやりたいです。いや、本当に僕が一
番好きな仕事ですので、楽しみでしょうがないです！

BUNGELING BAY SPIRIT 2 FIGHTS 2 WINS 2 K.O.

写真を見れば何となく分かると思いますが、松倉のプロデビューはＫ．Ｏ.勝ちで終わりました、しかも！１ラウンドで！本当にいい試合でした、本人も最高にいいやつです、練習は一生懸命やっている結果はやっぱりこれです。来年はきっといい年になるんじゃないか！下の写真は斎藤君です、彼も本当に真面目にいつも練習しています。今回は本人の初Ｋ．Ｏ.でした、斎藤みたいに真面目に練習をすれば絶対に強くなります。斎藤の来年も楽しみです！





I think these pictures speak for themselves, the top ones are of Matsukura who is the K-1 under 18 champion. It was his first professional fight and he did everything right, fought hard and Knocked out the guy in the first round! The pictures after that are of Saito another fighter on the team Bungeling Bay Spirit, and he also Knocked Out his opponent! So all in all it was a very good day for the team.

Three girls !

I am often asked about my girls and today is gonna be the day I show
you what they all look like! There names are Keito almost 10 years
old, Emily 8 years and Angelina who just turned 6 this month. So here
they all are, cute as the cream on a crusty cream doughnut.

よく子供のことを聞かれるんですけど、今までチラチラとしか書いてな

Samurai Spirit NG scene !

Samurai Spirit on location in Shizuoka

今回はサムライ　スピリットの静岡ロケーションでイメージカットを海側で後ろに富士山が見えます、上のレポートは日本語です、したのレポートは英語版です。。。どっち見ても楽しいかも？


This was shot yesterday when I was on location with my program Samurai Spirit, we were in Shizuoka to film with a master of Ko-budo, ancient style of martial arts originating on the battlefield of the Samurai. It was just such a beautiful location I wanted to show what Mt. Fuji looks like from the sea side. I even have an English report for you guys too...

Samurai Spirit

Today we are going down to Shizuoka to shoot on the next episode of my
NHK International program Samurai Spirit. It is about Kobudo, which is
the ancient martial art originating on the battle field all about
surviving! And I am about to find out what real fighting is all about.

今日は静岡まで行ってきます！静岡で古武道の撮影をします！今回はサム
ライ スピリットの古武道分をとって来ます。古武道は本当の武道
です、現代のスポーツ武道と違うところを今回撮影してきます。実は僕も
いろいろと勉強したいと思っています。。。

Not quite sure what happened ?

I tried to upload a couple of pictures yesterday, but they didn't show
up on the blog?

Guess I still don't know what I am doing?

Anyway, winter finally came to Tokyo, it has been getting colder and
colder lately and today it is really chilly. I don't feel like getting
out of bed, but one of the boys from the team is fighting this
afternoon and I am going along to help out.

Lately I have been busy with learning my lines for the drama that I
got a rather good part in. It's all in Japanese so I guess that, I am
finally going to get a chance to show off my acting skills in Japanese
on prime time tv. You never know when I will get my break over here?
But this could be it!!!

冬が来た〜

今日はふとんから出るのは久しぶりに時間がかかってしょうがないです！

って言うか？まだ、ふとんに入って今ブログを書いています。午後からJCBホール
で丸山君の試合があるので、この後はコウイチと行ってきます！

あのホールで初めて試合を見る、もしくは初めて試合をやるけど、すごいところ
らしい。

しかし、最近頭の中ではドラマのセリフでいっぱいです、やっと日本語で演技を
することになったのでワクワクしています。頑張っていいところを見せたいで
す。

Happy Birthday Honma-san

one of the core staff members on Samurai Spirit had his 36th. birthday on the set the other day and no one but my manager, Kitani Maki and I knew about it so we surprised him with a cake and a little song!

サムライ　スピリットのスタッフメンバー本間さんはこの前の現場で誕生日だったんです、何も分かっていなかったのでかなりびっくりしました。全然コメントにならなかったぐらいびっくりしました！

I spent the weekend in Matsuyama with Shoji Akira from Hustle, or as some of you might know? PRIDE! We used to run a gym together but since Leeman Brothers went down so did our gym and now I run the place by myself...But as you can see we are still good friends and we had a great time down in Matsuyama. It is the longest arcade style shopping street complex in Japan, and there were having a gourmet festival so we ended up eating all weekend...



松山では小路さんとグルメフェスタに参加しました、しかし、ダイットしたいニコラスにとってはかなり大変でした。。。楽しかったですけど！食べっぱなしでかなりまだ体重上がりました、今週で何とかしなきゃと思っている！

Angelina's birthday

Today Angelina turned 6 years old ! Man times fly by fast...

I think we are going to have a party for her tonight, as I am sure she
wants to get some presents and a big birtday cake!

今日で6歳になりました！おめでとうございます！夜はみんなでパーティーしま
す、そして、プレゼントとケーキ〓が待っています。。。来年は学校です！早す
ぎたよ、いつの間にこんなに大きくなったかな〜

Matsuyama Gourmet Festival

I flew down here yesterday to take part in the Gourmet Festival as a
guest, and it has been a great time since coming here! Great food with
great friends! The picture of the bath house is actually the original
bath house which was used as a model for the famous animated movie by
Miyazaki Hayao "Spirited Away"

昨日から松山に来ています、何と！仕事はグルメフェスタに参加すること
です。昨日から松山名物を食べながらみんなで楽しい時間を過ごしまし
た！

Matsuyama !

I just flew in this morning and let me just tell you that I am glad to
be out of Tokyo. It was cold and raining but down here it is just
awesome weather! I came down to take part in small event about food,
so I guess this is a job right down my lane.

今松山に着きました、本当にいい天気です！東京はあれだけ大雨だったの
で飛行機がゆれると思ったら全然普通でした、しかも、松山は最高にいい
天気です。

Sendai to Koriyama to Matsuyama!

I am kind of on a hard schedule these days, we came up here to Sendai
to check out this old gym. We were thinking that it might be possible
to revive it and make it profitable... But it was simply put a dump
and no amount of money would make that place run around! So we spent
the evening out and had some nice local treats, like the gyu-tan curry
place I took a shot at! Today I am going down to Koriyama for a talk
show, then after that I have to fly down to Matsuyama... Kind of hard
just to think about so I am just taking it one day at a time.

昨日から仙台に来て、仕事の話しを早く終わらせてから牛タンを食べに行
きました！りきゅうって言う有名な店がホテルの近くにありましたので、
そこでめっちゃ美味しい牛タンカレーを食べました！今はまた新幹線に
乗っています、今日は郡山でミニ公演をします。そして、明日は何と！松
山まで飛びます。。。結構ハードですので、一日一日をこなしています！
しかし、あの牛タンカレーは本当に美味しかったです！

It was totally by accident that I ended up filling this amount of gas
in my car!

アスポタ ブログ対談

僕が参加している「aspota」のなかから、セパタクローの
日本代表　松田祐一くんから質問がきました。
答えてみたいと思います。



１、僕はタイ語が少し話せるのですが字が難しくて読めません。ニコラスペタスさんは日本語がとても上手ですが、どのように勉強されたのですか？

僕が寮生だったときにフランス人で日本語が上手い先輩がいたので彼から基本的な部分は教わりました。ただし、細かい部分はいつも寝る前に同期の日本人の寮生と辞書をそれぞれ持って僕は彼に英語を彼は僕に日本語を教えあって覚えました。１年後ぐらいには普通の会話程度は出来ていましたよ！字の方は僕もまだまだ勉強中ですけどブログ書くようになって凄く覚えましたね！
２、日本の良い所と、直した方が良い所を教えて下さい？
どっちも多すぎて困っちゃうけどまず直した方がいいところね。とにかく言葉のニュアンスが難しすぎる・・・みんな気を使ってそういう話し方をしているんだろうけど外国人からするとサッパリわからないし伝わらない。もっとストレートになる時が多くあってもいいと思う。次に良い所だけどとにかく食べ物が美味しい！日本料理は勿論だけどフランス料理も中華料理もハンバーガーも日本が一番美味い！特にカツカレーは日本が誇る最高の料理だよ！


３、ニコラスペタスさんは格闘家をしつつも、ドラマに出演したり、イベントをプロデュースしたり、道場を開いたりと、精力的に活動されてますが、そのエネルギー源は何ですか？また信念のようなものはありますか？

色んな活動をしているけど活動によってモチベーションは違うんだ。仕事と割り切って生活の為にと気持ちを盛り上げる時もあればシンプルに「好き」だけでやってる事もある。信念というものなのかどうかは解らないけど自分の中で決めていることは「やる」と決めたら「迷わない」事が大事だと思っている。やりだした以上は心配になっても不安になっても多少周りの迷惑になっても最後までやりきる。後の結果や反省は次の話し、自分がやると決めた事には関係の無い話だから。とにかく決めた以上は最後までやる事かな。


４、僕は試合前には音楽を聞いたり、静かな所でプレーのイメージをしたりするのですが、ニコラスペタスさんは試合前自分を高めるために必ずやる事はありますか？

僕は色んな顔があるけど自分のバックボーンは「武道家」だと思っています。「武道家」はいついかなるときも戦える気持ちと準備をしなくてはいけません。だから極力「〇〇の前だから」というような瞬間的なメンタルコントロールはしないようにしています。自然体で何があってもいつもと同じパフォーマンスが発揮できるよう心掛けながら生活していますよ。


５、最後になりますが、ニコラスペタスさんが思う、日本人で一番強い男は誰ですか？

これは難しい質問ですね～（笑）強さは色々あります。簡単に誰が強いとは中々言えないけど敢えて言えばゴルゴ１３じゃないですかね（笑）戦っても強いしお金も持ってるし個人情報はまったく解らないしネットワークも凄いし（笑）ミスターアンタッチャブルですよ。

Still nice in Tokyo

It is still nice weather in Tokyo, yesterday it was over 20 degrees Celsius and although it gets a bit chilly in the evenings and mornings, it is still real nice during the day. Great weather to ride my bike, although I am having the headlights and other wires on the monster bike fixed I still have the Harley, so I am feeling pretty good about getting around. This last week I have had a bit trouble with my stomach and not been able to diet properly, so I gained some of the weight back that I had dropped, but today I feel like going for a run so I am gonna go to the gym and try my luck out on the treadmill. My leg has been feeling a lot better lately and I feel confident that I can make it in the gym.

この一週間まえから何となくおなかの調子はあんまり良くなかったので減らした体重は少しもどったけど、今日は走りたい気分です。後でジムに行って走ってみる、足の筋肉はだいぶ戻ってきたので少し自信はあります。出来たら毎朝ロードワークで始めたいですけど、股関節のオペ後はそれがまだできていないです。すこしづつですが前へすすむ方向で毎日頑張っています。目標は年内にもとの体を戻すことです！

Still the Champion !

Koichi was defending his title match yesterday, and although it ended up being a real hard fight he kept his belt. Next year he has already been offered a shot at another belt, but let's just get over this one first and then focus on correcting some of the mistakes he made this time!

ベルトは持っで帰ることが出来たけど、大変な試合でした！今回はいろん なプレジャー感じたとおもうけど、本当のポテンシャルは見れなかったで す！ギリギリでしたが、お疲れ様です！

Koichi is defending his title today

Koichi will be defending his world title today in Differ Ariake, and his opponent is Yuki.They have fought once before in the Bazooka tournament, and Koichi won the decision, but it was a real tuff fight and today I am sure it is going to be a hard fight too. I am going along for the ride and to make sure he does the right thing, so that he can bring that belt back home with him.

今日はディファーでコウイチのタイトル望遠戦をやります、今日の相手は勇気選手ですが一度昔試合したことがあるんですが、その時はかなりハードな試合でした。最後はコウイチ判定で勝ったんですが、ダメージはひどかったです。きっと今日もめっちゃハードな試合になると思うけど、体の調子は最高です、ハートもかなり前向きですし、きっといい結果につながると思います。さ、頑張るんだよコウイチ！

Samurai Spirit Kobudo

We started shooting on the part of Samurai Spirit, and this time it is all about the ancient art form of martial arts now called Kobudo. Having it's roots on the battle field, most of the techniques are based on true survival. Now the first part we shot last year about Kendo, was nominated at the international sports program festival in Milan and won a prize!

My private Tokyo

I shot on this program last time and this is a shot of me introducing my favorite indian restaurant in the whole world. Gara in Ikebukuro, the funny thing was that the chef has been working there for as long as I can remember and when asked what I order, he laughed and said that once about 5 or 6 years ago I order tandori chickien, but apart from that I have only ordered the butterchicken bowl for more than 10 years...And trust me when I say " It is good !"

この前の番組の収録は池袋で空手やインドカレー屋さんを紹介しました。本当に美味しいですけど、取材でニコラスはどんなものを食べるんですか？ってインド人は聞かれましたら、一度５～６年前にタンドリチキンを頼んだんだけど？この１０年間はバターチキンカレーしか食べたことがないです！でも、それはうまいから帆ｋのものは選らないです。。。本当に美味しいです。ガラっていう店なんですが、最近アメブロによく出ています。

The sky over Tokyo !

I took this shot fromthe roof of my gym, and although it does look
like much on this picture. It was so clear that mount Fuji seemed to
just out of reach, with the setting sun in the background it was
almost surreal standing there watching it.

ジムの屋上から写真をとったんですが、携帯のカメラはやはり物足りない
です。そこにたったときはすごいキレイだってので皆さんに見せたかっ
た！

Kumamoto fight night

I went down to Kumamoto to help out Samukawa at his fight. And
ofcourse he stayed true to his Champion belt and knocked out his
opponent in the second round! It was my first time to go to Kumamoto,
and although I kind of hoped to see something there, I want even there
for 24 hours! It was just one of those in and out jobs, get in do the
job and then go home... At least we won so it made up for it! Now I am
sitting in the airplane and just trying to get rid of my headacne by
downing my forth cup of coffee... It is going to be a long day today!

熊本は初めてなのに、来てすぐに帰るって言うのはちょっと寂しいです。
今飛行機なかでブログの更新しています。昨日は寒川直喜選手のセコンド
で熊本まで来ました、結果は2ラウンドでK.O.勝ちでした！
初めて熊本に来たので何かでも、面白いところまで行きたい気持ちでした
が、本当に24時間もいないので今回は試合と打ち上げで終わりで
す。。。しかも、今は飛行機の中でコーヒーを4杯めで何とかこの
頭痛いを直そうとしているけど、中々立ち直らないです。。。きっと今日
は長い一日になるんじゃない？

KRUSH Champion Nakajima !

Last night I was out helping the boys at the KRUSH tournament. It was
the final and of Nakajima won then it would secure him a spot in the
elimination tournament next year for the K-Max! He has had 10 fights
with 10 wins and 7 K.O. So although he was up against the Champion he
didn't give an inch and although it was one of the hardest fight of
the evening, he got the decision in the end after the last extension.
And was crowned Krush champion!

昨日は後楽園でクラッシュで中島君が優勝しました！本当にハードな試合
でしたけど、最後の延長で判定勝ちしました！おめでとうございます、さ
すが、バンゲリング ベイ スピリットのパワーです！

Puppys dining?

Do they eat dogs here? Or is it just a place where you can eat with
your dog? It's just another one of those funny Japanese/English names
for something? I have over the years seen quite a lot of different
ones that have been funny, but this one seems to go beyond that... I
hope they have some good coffee because I am about to go in!

Samurai underwear in Mitsukoshi

This was the recent press conference for the Samurai Pants in Mitsukoshi, my blue eyed samurai underwear have still not come off the drawing board. But next spring they should be available on the shelves of a certain sports store.
