Hospital room !

This is how it looks inside the room I will be staying in at the hospital. I thought it a real nice room, and feel good about the atmosphere. They are the best doctors in Japan for this procedure and I feel very secure with the nurses, I am having a real good feeling about the whole thing. I am sure I will come out on the winning side!

Hospital

I am getting admidtted to the hospital today, going to spend the next two weeks in there because I am having my hip replaced. I am not looking forward to this operation, but it should make me able to overcome all the pain and trauma that I have been living with for the last couple of years. And let me just say that I am seriously sick of that pain, and seriously tired of not being able to work out. By Monday afternoon it will all be over and I should be on my way to recovering. So stay tuned as I keep you updated about the whole procedure.


今日から？って言うか今から病院に行きます。それで、これから２週間の入院が待っています。左足の股関節のオペは月曜日にやります、って言うことはこれからブログのアップはどれぐらいできるか分からないです。頑張って動画とかアップしたいです、この戦いは一人でしなければいけないけど。。。みんなの力を借りながら頑張りたいと思っています。よろしくお願いします。やっとこの２～３年間で苦しんでいた痛みがよくなるように向かっています。今回で５回目のオペになるけど、オペってのはなれるもんではないです。今日のあと一週間はきっと全然違うことで悩んでいると思いますけど、今は月曜日にやるオペでちょっと心配ですけど、よくなるためなら前向きでいられるので、普通に走れるようになる自分をイメージをするだけで早くオペしたい気持ちです。それで、今日から病院にいるのでブログのアップは出来るだけやります。

Pettas on location for TV drama !

This is a small reel from the last out door location, the girl with the mask is my manager, Kitani Maki. She is really sick and she still showed up for the shoot, eventually I had to ask her Dad to drive her off to the hospital. I have been battling a cold myself lately and it is not a good thing because I am going in for surgery on Monday. I would like to have been in tip top condition but that seems a bit harder than I had expected. I don't know how much internet connection I will have when I am in hospital, but at least I have my phone. I am there from the 1. to the 14th. and the operation is on the 3rd. Please send me happy thoughts! Because I don't like the whole operation procedure, although I know it will get better it is still a long hard couple of days to get through...

This is footage from a friend of mine, who is a caligraphist in Japan. She is the one in the Kimono, and is considered very un-orthodox because she is so young. She is the one and same Sensei who wrote the big piece in my gym called Tamashii! Which means Spirit!

Call center's girlfriend ?

Is the name of the TV drama that I am working on at the moment, I am having a lot of fun working with the crew and it is really good to back in front of the camera again. Talking about being in front of the camera, do you know how Hello Kitty is? Well, it is a cartoon character originated in Japan and apparently it is Mariah Carey's favorite thing in the world. Anyway, they are having their 35Th. anniversary this coming year and a famous photographer called Leslie Lee, originally from Singapore is shooting all the famous people in Japan at the moment naked for that shoot. It will eventually turn into a book with naked pictures of more that 800 people, I was asked to join in and yes, I stripped down in front of the lens! It was actually a very natural thing to do, Leslie is an awesome photographer and seeing all the shots of all the other people he has already shot, it was almost impossible not to take it all off. Sorry I am not going to show you any behind the scenes shots or video's yet, you are going to have to wait until the book comes out in April next year...

TV Drama shoot

The production company that I am working with is called Excelling and these two girls are part of the same company. In Japan it is common to use talents from the same company in shoots like these because it makes it all a lot easier when most of the cast comes from the same place. We are shooting on a TV Drama called "The Call Centers Girlfriend" And I am playing a Billy Blanks kind of caracter, here you see the back dancers of my fitness video...it was hilarious!

More FM YOKOHAMA

FM Yokohama

I went to FM YOKOHAMA yesterday because we are about to make a Nicholas Pettas radio program, starting from October! I am totally exited about the whole project, but it might seem a bit harder than I had first asumed. Because most of the radio people don't know that I actually speak fluently japanese, but after the meeting yesterday they realized that I can do just about anything! So they got excited and asked me if I could speak a bit more bilingually? Like using keywords in english more as a punch line. It is a thing for really high level personalities in Japan to make themselves look cool, and the ones that do it are really god at it too, I am going to have to start changing the way I talk so I can sound a bit more like them. Out of all the people that do it I like Chris Pebbler the most, he sounds totally cool when he does it and that is what I should be aiming at...

Is this the volume of what a total Eclipse looks like in Japan ? It ended up raining and everybody who had bought the special visors ended up getting nothing out of it...

I went to see the fireworks in my old town in Katsushikaku? But it was raining and the clouds where clouding everything up there, so it was hard to see what was going on...

FM Yokohama

We have been in the process of setting up a program on FM Yokohama, for now quite some time and yesterday was kind of a kick off party to finalise what kind of program we would like to make. There was a lot of talking about different ideas, but I think that we got a lot closer to a final draft on what it should look like at the end of the evening.

ＦＭ横浜の番組をやろうとしているけど、以外に難しい話です。。。ニコラスはどれぐらい話せるのか分からない人はいまだにたくさんいるので、まずそこからの説明になる！僕は日本に来てからもう１８年たっているのに、日本語は話せますか？っと聞かれると実に辛いですけど、そう言うときは気合が入ってそうだよね？僕って外人ですよ、を思い出す。見た目から言うと外人ですから日本語話せるかどうかは分からないのはおかしくない話です。実際に僕と触れ合ってない人はやっぱり分からないです。それで、今回も頑張ればいいんです。本当に頑張ればいいんですと思いました。まだ、１００％決まっていないですけど、あとクライアント一人か二人で番組が出来るので、ゴルフって言えばグリーンまで来て後一歩です。僕も日本語をこれからもっと勉強して、もっとメディアに出て日本語力をアピールして頑張ればいいんです。

Training on the camp 2009

Just a little movie from some of the training on the camp! It was hot in that hall but everyone trained hard and things worked out real good. I am sure that we all had a great time, at least I had a good time. It is awesome to be working with the fighters, they are so strong and full of life. It is like working with the elite of the elite, and the more you make them work the more they seem to wanting.

A quiet day

I am just having a quiet day in the office, we are going on the summer camp tomorrow and there a few things we need to take care of before then. So I have just rolled up here in my big truck and that was kind of nice to be able to just cruise around in the car, because outside it is over 30C. On my Harley that gets bumped up at least 10 or 15 degrees because the engine is so darn hot. But I guess that is the only price you pay for wanting to look good!

今日はジムで一日ゆっくりしています、明日から夏合宿に行くのでその前の準備でいろいろやっています。約５０人は行くことになったのでかなり面白くなると思います。今日は車で移動をしています、やっぱり暑い時は車便利です。バイクで３０°を超えている天気だと本当に暑いです。ハーレーのエンジンは熱いから、バイクの周りはその１０から１５℃も熱くなるので走り回っているサウナみたいなもんです。。。でも、かっこいい姿で見られたいのであればその料金は安いかも？

By the way, this company is actually in the book of guiness world records for being the biggest advertisement comapny in the world.

Showering in the street

It is like working out in a sauna! It gets so hot inside the gym that we often go outside to cool off in the shower. And let me just tell you how great that feels!

Getting ready for the big fight next month...And it is only 36 degrees outside? Imagine the heat inside the gym without airconditioner??? It is like working out in a sauna!

Long day

Yesterday it was a kind of turning point in my life, but today is a new day and I am feeling good. I know that there is a long road ahead of me but it does show promise of a brighter future than what I am now. To live with pain for so long is like slowly dying a little everyday, but now that I know I will get better I can't wait to get started. 昨日は人生の中である意味のターニングポイントの一日でしたけど、今日は新しい日です。気持ちよくこれから来る辛い日々を向かうことができる。痛みを感じない日が来るのを楽しみにしています、毎日痛いと頭の働きはどこかでそれで集中しているから辛いですけど、これからは心配なく体と付き合いが出来るともっともっとパワーが出ます。日本は今３５～７°でめっちゃ熱いです、その熱い日本に熱いニコラスもいます、夏に負けないぞう！全然関係ないけど、この写真はSimen Kjellinさんがこの前デンマークで撮ってくれた。お父さんはてれくさくっていい写真です。

Hip Replacement

今回は初めて英語のレポートをしてみました！何だか英語では話す雰囲気は違う。。。

On my way to the Hospital

I think I spoke about it before, but my left hip joint has worn out and I need a replacement. It sounds like something out of a SF movie, but it is as real as anything can get. This is a picture of what they are going to do to my hip on the 3rd. of August...I don't like hospitals because over the years I have spent so much time in them that I have had enough of going in and out of them. But like all the other times this is is serious enough that I can't just make it go away, so today we are getting ready for the operation on the 3rd. by taking a whole bunch of tests.


以前に左足の股関節の話はしたと思いますが？何といつの間にオペが決まりました。。。８月３日に僕の体の中は大体こんな感じになります！人口股関節を体に入れることによって、今毎日感じている痛みは消えてしまう。そして、少しですが運動はできるようにないります。実に言うとこの一年間は自分の本格的な運動はできていないです。つらくって、言葉にできないですけど、このオペは上手くいけば本当に楽になる。最近は普通に走れるようになるのは楽しみでしょうがないです。今日はオペに前にやるテストを一日使って病院に行きます。。。

New I-phone !

Yep, I finally got it and I am actually liking it. If you checked out my video's yesterday then you know some of the things that telephone can do. I am thinking that in about 3 years they will have the I-Phone up to the standard that they are aiming at. But for the moment it is still not as smart as I would like it to be? But everytime they come out with a new one or even just the new software then it gets better and better...

やっぱり、新しいバーションはいいですけど、まだまだ機能は前に使っていたドコモと比べればレベル低いです。今回は前のものよりいいけど、たぶん３年後には本当に良くなるんのではないか？と思います。それまでゆっくり我慢するしかないかな~？

Back in Japan

Back in Japan and it looks like that the rainy season is not over yet? I just rolled out of bed, but that is after having slept for about 13 hours...I didn't know that I was able to sleep that long, but it sure felt good getting back in my own bed. It is raining slightly this morning but nothing to keep me off my bike, life starts back up today and that can feel both good and well let's just say that is what life is all about. This is a picture of my friend Simen from Norway, I have spoken about this homeboy before, he is the dude that has taken all the cool shots of me on my homepage, well I asked if he was interested in coming down to Copenhagen and hanging out. And as you can see here he was, good guy with the heart in the right place.

日本に帰ってきたよ！しかも、帰ってきたら雨です。確かに僕はデンマークにいる間は最高にいい天気だったけど、今週から雨とのことで僕は帰るタイミングはよかったと勝手に思ってけど？日本も雨じゃないですか？　　それはそれで、昨日アマ大会に顔を出してから家に帰って昼寝、それから夜のごはんを食べてから２２時前にはもうベッドに入って今まで寝てました！人間でどこまで寝れるのかな~？僕はこんなに寝たのは初めてかも？それでもまだ眠いよ。。。この男は僕の友達です、Simen Kjellinっていう男ですが、以前にも紹介したことがあるのですが、彼は僕のホームページの写真を全部とったカメラマンです。今回はわざわざNorwayから会いに来てくれたよ。本当にいい男です。何だか？この人も絵になる。。。

last day in Denmark !

I am taking the SAS flight back home this afternoon, well that is to say which is home now? Home is where you lay your hat I guess...So I am as much home now as I am when I get back to Japan. It has been a great trip and I hope that I can do it again sometime again.
